Meet the Mama Q&A with Sarrah
Mama to Claudia, Jacob & Caden

Happy Wednesday!

Today we are chatting with Sarrah, who is Mama to Claudia, Jacob & Caden.

Sarrah is also the creator of our newly stocked Hamptons Totes and founder of Ecru Totes so thought it fitting we chat with her to see how she juggles running her business and raising three cherubs PLUS helping her Husband running his business.

Welcome Sarrah, I am so excited to chat with you - thank you for taking part!
Let's get into it, tell us a little about your family!
CHAOS, that's a word I would use to describe our family at the moment.
We have Claudia who is 7 going on 17, she's smart, more mature than her parents and loves to slam her door to get her point across.
Jacob is 6 and is a total gaming buff who can be the sweetest boy but also the most cheeky.
Our youngest is Caden who is turning 2 in April has to be the cutest baby but also the most terrifying with his perfect aim and punches!
Chadie, my Husband, and I are like chalk and cheese but our differences make the perfect team in both love, parenting and work.

Haha, it sounds like you have your hands full!
Tell us a little about your birth stories, is there anything you would change or do differently?
Make sure the Christmas shopping and photos are done before giving birth. There is nothing like being in labour and running around Westfield trying to finish the Christmas photos and take the family Christmas Santa photo!

Oh my goodness - NO! You superwoman, I don't know how on earth you managed to do that!
What was the hardest thing you found about being pregnant?
Weight gain, I gained 30+ kilos with each pregnancy and then spend the next 12 months trying to lose it all again.

I found I gained weight after, and still trying to get back to where I was. It's amazing how our bodies change!
What did you crave the most when you were pregnant?
Botox 😆

Haha - Botox and Fillers, I am with you there!
With your experience having birthed your three cherubs, did you find everything you heard/read/saw accurate?
I feel like I didn't really hear about birth stories prior to giving birth to my first. But if someone asks me now, I tell them it's like every SAW movie in the nether region.

At least you're honest - ha!
What would be your biggest piece of advice for someone who is about to have a baby?
You are enough, you aren't alone and it's okay to ask for help or some time to yourself.

I love that - we are enough. I think we really need to spend more time, telling ourselves how it is ok to ask for help. Often it is the hardest thing to do.
What did you find were the "must-haves" for your hospital bag?
Hair and skincare is a must, after birth you will want to feel refreshed and clean. Slippers, lots of nanna knickers and dark coloured PJs incase you have a leak.

Agreed - I packed a lovely body wash that I knew would "spark joy" when using as the scent reminded me of some happy times I have had.
What has been the most exciting milestone your little cherubs have reached? Talking, I love hearing their new words.

What is something you purchased and never used?
Mum bought me this amazing but super expensive high chair. None of my kids liked it.

That's one thing I haven't spent a lot of money on, we just have a Big W one and its great - throw it in the back yard and hose it down. The best!
What are some of challenges you’ve faced since becoming a mum?
Losing myself, lack of sleep and energy

Energy - no one really speaks about this, do they? We sort of need to always be going and going, and more than half the time we are running on empty!
What was the most surprising thing you discovered about being a mum?
How much I would love and enjoy it.

What has been the hardest thing about being a mum?
Finding time with friends who don't have kids.

True - finding activities to do, where its easy for you, the cherubs and your friends can be hard!
What's the best advice you've been given about becoming a mum?
Cooking tips and when to cook in the day - my sister in law spends the morning cooking so dinner is ready by the time the kids come home.

I love that, sounds like it would make the afternoon's go much smoother - especially close to the famous witching hour!
How have you changed as a person since your cherubs arrived?
I have grown a lot since being a mum, I was wild before marriage and children, so they have definitely grounded me.

What are three pieces of advice you would give someone about to become a new mum?
Rest when you can, have hubby help around the house, and take time for yourself.

I am with you there - Mama's, take time for yourself! We can do this!

Thank you so much Sarrah for joining us and being so honest, and funny. I am sure many Mama's now won't be able to get the SAW images out of their heads haha!

Have a beautiful week, and chat soon!
